These groups were influenced by many ideologies and sought either to return to an imagined past within the Nazi New Order or to form a new Yugoslavia sympathetic to the Allied cause. The victors were communists, led by Marshal Tito, and, until now, the history of this short but tragic period has been mainly told from their perspective.

Drawing on oral histories and archival sources only recently made available, Stevan K. Pavlowitch, a world-renowned historian of the Balkans, reconstructs a complete portrait of this complicated history. Many wars were fought alongside, as well as under the cover of, the Allies' war against Hitler's New Order, and in Yugoslavia, these battles created a "new disorder" that historians are only now beginning to understand. Turning to the work of scholars in several languages, Pavlowitch illuminates what actually happened on the ground, providing a definitive history of what Yugoslavs endured on both the Axis and the Allied sides.

Quite possibly the best book for Micro (both classes and USMLE)!

I have used many microbiology books to study for my medschool exams (in particular Microbio made ridiculously easy). And I've been getting a thorough understanding through many textbooks. However, Deja Review is the ultimate book for reviewing all the information in a concise and yet still-detailed manner.

For the USMLE, this is a must-have. I told this to many other students, and they have all thanked me for sharing this book. It's money all the way. Microbio is an extensive topic, and this book has many many many chapters devoted to the extensiveness of this subject. Yet, the most important thing about this question/answer format is that they constantly use REPETITION to get points into your noggin'. Great book for USMLE micro

This book is just the perfect supplement for micro and immuno to go with First Aid. Forget made Ridiculously Simple, it's ridiculously too long for what you need. This book looks like it has more pages, it does by number, but the dimensions of the book are much smaller, if it were MMMRS size it would be about ~150 pages. This is perfect with first aid, it covers everything in a great question answer format.

This is a great supplement to First Aid and Goljan.The immunology section is just enough to get you to the level of understanding Goljan and FA without being too much to read. Micro is great too -especially if FA seems to skimpy, Ridiculously Simple is too much to read, or if Goljan seems too scattered. If you need a quick start, refresher or a book to fill in the blanks, buy this one.

Thought provoking and challenging

An excellent read depicting life growing up in rural Grenada. It is written in dialect - both the narration and the dialogue which can be challenging to read at times for a non Grenadian, but it is readable. There is a glossary of local terms in the back which helps with unusual words. It is an eye opener for those of us from the West, who look upon Grenada as an idyllic paradise. We learn about the people and the hardships and struggles endured in every day life. Well worth the read if you are looking for a read which is different, thought-provoking and challenging.

What an unforgetable journey!

Cindy McKenzie’s novel, Force Ripe, is a literary gift to Grenada, an inspiration to children, and a powerful lesson to parents everywhere. This novel touched my soul. Its magic is in the simple but profound observations of Lee, a young girl facing the challenges and dangers of a harsh existence that no child deserves. It’s an unforgettable journey of abandonment, betrayal, and painful secrets. Yet, she prevails, giving testimony to the resilience and strength of the human spirit. When I turned the last page, I wanted to meet her, to hear her voice, and experience her strength. The story rings so true, the details so vivid, I know Lee is out there somewhere. When you read this book, you will have the same experience too.

A very touching journey.

Well worth the read.... the author truly described the hardship and abuse (physical & mental) some children went through by the hands of their caregivers even their own family. It was heart wrenching go through the journey of the young life of the author with her as she told the story. I'm so thankful I have not been through what she has described. I truly respect this young woman for the strong and graceful person she is today. Kudos to a true nubian princess.

OK Beginner Book

I used this book to make a few of the soap recipes. I thought the author did a good job of explaining and the pictures are quite lovely but mine definitely didn't turn out looking like hers. I also didn't like the fact that the recipes I try all used lye and I really wanted to steer clear of using it. So if you want to use lye I would say there are quite a few plausible recipes in the book. If you don't I'd recommend looking elsewhere. Also, if you are a veteran soap maker than this book isn't for you.
